Northeast white pine was created by moss
Now that the weather is getting more Fall-like the pitch on white pine is hardening up and climbing them is not as much of a sticky "pitch-fest" as it is in August. This tree is approximately 145', my access rope was set on one of the first live limbs at 85+'. After I reached the top of the rope climbing SRT (single rope) I switched to DRT (doubled rope) and alternated between my 20' lanyard and my main rope to remain always tied in as I progressed into the upper crown of the tree.
