Very few sugar maples of this size and age to be found in Southwestern Ohio. Located on the site of a one room school house, circa 1900. I imagine kids around the turn of the last century climbing her during recess. Large horizontally sloping limbs through out the canopy make for a pretty easy climb. Autumn colors spectacular red/yellow as only a maple can show. A lot of lower limb die-off which I'm tempted to prune, but won't. The leaves dropped almost overnight into a circular pile, resembling the skirt of a Christmas tree. Beautiful find.
