I like my master, but I wish it wasn't quite so heavy.

i have some deluxe version of the master, master 4 or something. anyway, i believe the deluxe has clipping leg and waste straps while the regular has a type that you insert and turn, and it also has a more comfortable back pad. i like it alright but i find the 9 attachment points excessive. you really only need a few and rest just clutter up the saddle. also, it doesn't have a bridge, but you can easily make one as many people do.

What kind of tree climbing are you intending to do? It makes a big difference for your harness choice.

From the picture on the Sherrill's catalog and from the experiences by sitka, nick and others I think this is overkill for Recreational Tree Climbing.
On the other hand if you ever consider becoming a full time arborist them this saddle is probably a good buy for you.

The Master Deluxe alone costs more than the entire set of climbing gear I got from New Tribe originally. You may consider the Elevation ( Tobeys's Choice) almost 100 bucks cheaper and has similar construction to the Masters. You may consider reading some of the opinions about saddles in the treebuzz ( no need to be a registered member to read their postings) If you want the best of all try the "Treemotion saddle" from Treeimagineeers.

Hi Tree boy,

I would suggest a New Tribe Harness. They are light, tuff, and can be used in a variety of TTC.

I belong to a Search and Rescue Team. The harness varie among us and each member has at least 2 diff. types of harness. I brought out my New Tribe and they loved it. If I do recall New Tribe Harness is a class 3 harness, I need to check my specs to make sure.
