Cambium saver crushed was created by moss
I was over-caffeinated when I first posted this. Here's the edited to-the-point version:

I goofed up and hung a Su Sleeve type pipe cambium saver in a tight V crotch and discovered after about 8 hours climbing on it that the cambium saver was partially crushed in the V. The rope was not damaged. However it was a very strong lesson in "don't do that again!" or to be specific, make sure your conduit style cambium saver is fully supported by the crotch or branch. Do not depend on the saver for structural support, it's not safe to do so and at the very least will waste gear.

Time to bring out the RING-ring cambium saver!

Bummer to hear about your sleeve taking a beating. Is it now out of commission?

It is done. Ring-ring or sling, screwlink and block next time. I'll have to check out your ART rope guide if you bring it to the rendezvous.

HOPEFULLY it will be spliced onto some new rope by then. The old one (the first rope I spliced onto the ART ropeguide..about 4 years ago) got attacked by the handsaw. :D I had nothing to do with it, I swear!
