Hey everyone,
I've been climbing for a few years on poison ivy. Was trained by the great Treeman back in the day!

Poison Ivy is great for DRT and I love it and will continue climbing on it. Very supple yet very durable...I can't think of anything negative except for the weight for certain expedition style trips I take
Could you guys recommend a lighter rope for DRT that can handle the occasional SRT climb?

Also, really love the color of poison ivy and prefer a natural earth-tone color. Just wish it was lighter

thank you so much!

I love my Bandit rope, light and natural colored.

PMI-EZ bend in 10mm and 9mm would also work. The standard color isn't natural but it may come in other special order colors. Volume and weight savings would be significant with 9mm.

The Petzl Easy Bend 10mm is about as light as you can get. You must be packing in to remote locations to get a rope lighter than the Poison Ivy. Maybe your are going for taller trees? Know that the smaller diameter rope will feel different but it will take a Blakes hitch with Easy Bend. The 10 mm Snakebitee will not take the Blakes hitch.

Get high- Climb em' trees
