Hi all. I'm Lisa, avid Hula-Hooper, reluctant mechanic, transplanted Texan, and wannabe Tree Climber.
So it goes like this...I love to climb trees and we just got stationed at Barksdale AFB wich has lots of beautiful ones....they call to me...beg me to climb them. But the Air Force has this little thing about safety. (Airmen are expensive to make, they pay all our medical bills, and really high life insurance payouts! They really kinda like to keep us in one piece.)
So I had to figure out a way to make climbing trees safe. Found out lots of people are doing it already...less work for me!
I just got my TCI instructional DVD and now I'm shopping for basic DRT gear. I can't wait to try it. I've also ordered four or five books on climbing...I don't even remember them all. I'm still trying to decide if I want to take the BTCC.
Info, tips, encouragement, patience, comments, e-mails, etc welcome.
Also looking for climbers close to me Shreveport, La (I often travel to/thru the DFW area too) to climb with talk to and help me find others to climb with and talk to!
Can't wait to meet everyone!
