Tree climbing in Maine ? was created by groleau
Anyone climbing in Maine? I just came back from tree climber international course. I'd love to talk to anyone about it or climbing in general. Thanks Groleau:)

What part of Maine are you in? I get up into the southern part of the state once in a while.

Congrats on completing the basics course!

Hi Moss, Thanks for the congratulations. I live in the Bangor area, about mid way up the state. My plan is to start hiding some geocaches in trees. I hope to elicit some excitement for tree climbing this way. There doesn't seem to be many people up this way climbing trees. In fact, my local mountain sports shop thinks its cool, but not many folks doing it. Looking at the map on international tree climbers site, I only see one other person in southern Maine. Thanks for the interest... Groleau

There aren't many people doing rec climbing anywhere in New England. It's a lonely sport around here :-) Get your climbs in and consider taking a facilitator course down the road or at least start mentoring climbers when you get some tree hours under your belt.

We should do a regional weekend camp and climb. I have a potential site in mind. Stay in touch.

Unfortunately, we don't know of any tree climbing facilitators where you are. Sorry!
