Good luck! Can you give us an idea of how you presented your grant? I know there are others that would like to see how you proposed your grant so they might get an idea on how to present one for themselves.

Grant writing is a skill in itself. It has its own kind of format. Please keep us posted. Any idea how on it will take to her back?

Peter,

I'm not sure what the process is from here. I'm not the grant writer at our center, this was just an idea I had and my boss thought we'd go for it. I just made suggestions for gear, based on what we'd been using and needed. I'd be happy to fax you a copy of our completed application. If we get the grant, you'll know what to do. If we don't, you'll know what NOT to do! ;-)

Good news! We have just been notified that we have been selected as a recipient of the grant, and will receive the full amount requested - almost $3000. Confirmation letters will be mailed this week, and after a bit more paperwork, we should see the funds in about 8 - 10 weeks! WooHoo!

Not sure why that is important to you Dave, but if you must know: The orange is a bit stiffer than the black, doesn't tangle, and is easier to throw. The black will be nearly invisible when left in the trees after we finish. Leaving them in the trees will make it faster to set up the lines for repeated use. Black was chosen to follow the principals of Leave No Trace. www.lnt.org Hikers and other people who use our park may not necessarily want to see trees strewn w/ brightly colored string when they are not being climbed.

Yes, I was wondering if the black were for hidden lines or if it was to keep them from being confused in the same bag.

The black line is thin and does get tangled if you're not real careful. I would imagine it would be very hard to see at height as well.
