Went camping last week near Lake Superior and had to hang the camp food in a bear bag (yes we saw bear prints and scat). Luckily I thought to bring my throwline so that made things a little easier, but still the task of pulling the heavy bag up was a problem. I am trying to think of a throw-away friction saver. Any ideas? Thanks.
Yep, use your throw line to set a ring and ring cambium saver, pull some rope through and haul yer food bag.
Retrieve rope and rings to use next time )
Jim K of Louisville KY posted that he rolls up the cardboard box used on 12 packs of coke; soaked it water formed around a garden hose while drying and viola a disposable rope sleeve that you can recycle.
