Custom DRT technique documentation

I've had a few requests for details on how I configure my closed split tail system for DRT climbing. The system takes advantage of the soft legstrap D on a New Tribe Tengu harness:

Very nice, Moss. Is the descent the same as with a Blake's or B53 DRT system?

I'd also be interested to see your camera rigging for the up line!

Very nice. What exactly are you doing with your left foot though? You have the pantin on the right, but looks like you're footlocking with the left or something? You're able to use both legs to go up that way? Thanks.

Descent technique is the same as on a B53. The only difference is you can go faster if you want because the hitch rides the rope with less friction than a Blake's. The cover on the Beeline hitch cord has heat resistant material woven in with polyester which also improves descent performance.

I mounted a mini ballhead on a short length of flat aluminum stock which is taped to a CMI ascender. The ascender is positioned on the standing end of the rope. I'll post photos.

Glad you like it. My left foot is locking the tail with a \"loop footlock\". It's a great technique on its own, with a Pantin on the right foot it becomes a hands free two-footed footlock.

I use the technique DRT and for a minimal SRT system.
