Hey!
I need some advice on anchoring in the tree. Until now I have used a throwline, then pulled the rope over and put a running bowline knot on the tree stem or a neighboring tree. I see people use this:
but what do they use to get the sling up in the tree?
Other uses I have seen is with a throwline, then pulling the rope over the branch, then knotting a bowline, and feeding the rope thru it, making somewhat of a girth hitch. I haven't used this yet, because I haven't come up with a good way to get the rope down again when I am done climbing. What is the safest and best way of anchoring in the tree?
Regards Bjørnar.
