Super slick! Thanks Oldtimer. I like the way this video was shot too. It's tough to shoot video when you need both hands to do what it is you are filming!

As a side note, I was just at my local Sam's Club this week. they have a nice helmet-cam from Oregon scientific. It was only like 86 bucks.

Ah well, I still don't have sound. Looked interesting. I wish Youtube videos were less blurry. How were those branches being lowered? Were they sliding down an angled line? I wonder if that saw was a 191T or a 192T.

Most of the videos are fairly goood quality and the comentary by Gerry Beranek are right on the spot without too much junk in them. I love to watch them!

Most of the branches on the video are being dumped down. The other ones are being lowered by a groundsman controlling the descend with a port-a rap or similar control devise and the last part they are travelling on a redirected line away from the drop zone along an angled Zip line.

Dumped?

Dropped Down(Dumped) (Without tying then with anything).
Later on the video he uses blue color slings with a binner each to send groups of three or four small diameter branches down but they are being \"lowered\" from a block (a strong pulley - page60 of Sherrill's catalog)or controlled from the ground.

Oh, I thought they all had straps on them.

Speaking of tubular nylon webbing, can anyone point me to some suppliers of spools of webbing that are rated? This is an area where I'd like to save some money; premade slings, etc are pricey!

Be aware that when buying spools of webbing of 150' or more, industry practice allows for up to 3 sections of webbing per spool. This may or may not be a problem for you, but you may not get a continuous length of 150' Also, some manus tack (stitch) or hot glue the ends of the sections together to make it easier to wind the webbing on the spool.

Here's a (semi)interesting tid-bit.
CMC Rescue has been compiling data and has come up with this non-scientific piece of information:

Many rescue, SAR and fire departments typically sort and organize webbing sections like this -

5' - Green
12' - Yellow
15' - Blue
20' - Red
25 - Black

Why? So that each rescue-tech knows the length of each section of webbing even when it is rolled or daisy-chained. also, no marking pen is needed.
